Last year I closed 11 out of the 12 monthly challenge rings for my Apple Watch. I wasn’t satisfied, so I vowed to close every ring this year. I was ready, I had a plan and it all came crashing down in March.
It’s been 12 weeks since the the COVID-19 pandemic changed the world we live in. The way we work, the way we interact with each other, and the way we stay fit has changed. You know what has also changed? The way I close my rings! All gyms have been closed since we’ve been quarantined, and I no longer can cycle to work. So how do I compete?
I vowed that I would continue cycling, even though at the beginning it was nerve wrecking. I eventually got comfortable and removed all paranoia from my mind and kept pushing pedals hard to close those rings. As of today, I have officially closed all my monthly challenge rings so far.
Now that May is complete, I have 10 days of grace where I don’t have to compete and complete any vigorous workout. I know we are almost half way done with the year, so I wonder what June – December will bring. Last year, July was my toughest challenge and it was the only ring I didn’t complete. This year so far, the challenge have been… well… challenging, but not very difficult. I know that will change.
Whatever June and the rest of the months bring, I’m ready to take on the challenge.
